What are the steps to buying a home?
Everyone has a picture of that "perfect" home in there mind. Whether that picture is of a suburban haven, a cool urban loft, a cottage that needs some updating, or a place that has tons of history, I can help you get it. I know the Nashville market. That doesn't just include currently listed inventory, but upcoming projects and future opportunities as well. This market can be tough to navigate, but I can act as your compass and help get you to a smooth closing. My job is to make sure you are protected throughout the entire timeline of the real estate transaction.
Here are the steps you should take if you think you are ready to start your search:
Step 1
Give me a call!
I'll refer you to a lender or two so that you can get prequalified as well as begin the preapproval process.
I always make sure my buyers are at least prequalified to purchase a home before we go see it. This way, we can be ready to submit an offer if you happen to fall in love!
Step 2
After you have spoken to your lender, we will go over several important items before we start your hunt.
First things first, I will create a personalized estimated cost spreadsheet. This breaks down the typical closing costs and helps better prepare you for closing day.
We will also review the entire Purchase and Sale agreement and preemptively decide on what some of your major stipulations will be.
Step 3
We'll start the search and find your future home!
I'll send you to open houses, and bring you to homes that have been carefully selected for you and by you!
Once we find the right place, I will run a CMA and help you determine where to begin your offer.
We'll submit the contract and hold our breath. Hopefully within the same day you will go under contract!
Step 4
We will go through the inspection period, the resolution period, and the appraisal period. Don't worry, I'll explain what all of this is before we even submit an offer!
All you have to wait for now is the green light from your lender and you are ready to close!!
